Notice the little holes dotting the skin of the upper jaw of this Galapagos shark. These are electrical sensors called ampullae of Lorenzini and all sharks have them. When an animal flexes its muscles, as a fish does when it swims, it generates an electric current. Sharks track their prey by following this current.
